In 1957 Marc Grant had his first one-man show, he was thirteen years old and it was a sell-out. The same year he was invited to join the San Diego Museum's Art Guild as their youngest member.

Since then, Grant has continued to both paint and design. As a founder of Jeanne-Marc, the popular San Francisco based fashion label, his designs were sold in fine specialty stores including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. In 1991, Grant's talents were recognized when he was elected to the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The Absolute Vodka Golden Shears Award followed this honor.

Grant's fine art has also won prizes including a first in the New Paltz Intercollegiate Printmaking Competition juried by Louise Nevelson and the James D. Phelan Award, a purchase prize for the Achenbach Foundation of Graphic Arts at the Fine arts Museum of San Francisco.

Marc Grant's work is in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London as well as many private collections. Grant continues to paint and exhibit from his home on Lopez Island and his studio in Berkeley, California.
